The iconic Silverstone Circuit plays host to the 10th race of the 2024 MotoGP season, and with the World Championship race hotting up as we reach the halfway point of the campaign, front-runners Francesco Bagnaia and Jorge Martin will both be looking to claim victory at the British Grand Prix today.
Despite having finished atop the podium in six of this season’s nine meetings so far, back-to-back defending world champion Bagnaia only overtook Martin at the top of the standings with his win at the German Grand Prix last time out – claiming the victory following the Spaniard’s withdrawal in an accident just two laps before the end of a race he’d led from the start.
Martin will therefore be looking to get back amongst the winners’ circle as soon as possible, and doing so today would see him win the British Grand Prix for the first time. Bagnaia’s only victory at Silverstone came on the way toward this first world title in 2022, with Aleix Espargaro winning the 2023 edition.
